Congratulations on your new baby!

I hope reading this guide will help you prepare for your newborn session. However, if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ring or email me. My number is 0422167433.

I will see you at 9.30am and please remember to bring a dummy on the day!

My studio is located at:

8 Sabot Place

Ocean Reef

What to Expect -

Your session will last around 2 hours and we go with your baby’s wishes on the day meaning I cannot guarantee all poses, but only the ones baby is comfortable with. When dressing for the shoot, please consider that the studio will be heated to a nice 37 degrees. I have been photographing babies for the last 14 years and I have 3 of my own. I have both done and taught numerous training workshops and worked with some of the best in the industry to gain experience and confidence to work with your newborn in a safe manner.

For Baby -

Before arriving at the shoot, please feed baby prior to leaving home, and plan on feeding again as soon as you get here. Baby may be feeding more than normal as we are constantly ‘disturbing’ baby by moving and posing, so please bring extra formula if bottle feeding.

Some parents use dummies and some don’t.  For most baby shoots we will need a dummy so please bring one! It reduces the session time and ensures baby is settled in between being moved from pose to pose.

For Mum and Dad -

You are a big part of the show! The connection between you and your baby is beautiful and it creates beautiful images that you will treasure forever.

Dads:

If you prefer not to be shirtless I ask that you bring a plain shirt to wear. Please consider bringing a plain white and black shirt without any prints. That way we can do either white setups or black background.

Mums:

Consider a simple top. Again, bring both black and white options. Some prefer sleeveless and some prefer to cover their arms. Lace is another great option but keep the choices plain in colour. I have. large selection of dresses that are great options too, so don’t stress if you cant find anything to wear. Make sure that you have no nail polish, or at least no cracked nail polish as your hands will be in the photos.

For Siblings:

Including brothers and sisters in your newborn photos is a great way to capture this fleeting time in your lives.

We want to ensure a calm and peaceful environment for the newborn and it can be a very long day for siblings and hard for you to keep them entertained. To assist this I start the session by doing the sibling photos first and you then must either arrange to have them picked up or perhaps dad can take them out for a few hours. However, some siblings may not be up to the task. It’s a massive change to become a big sister or brother and sometimes they prefer not to be part of the photo session which is very understandable too. If you feel this is the case, I would recommend a family shoot once baby is older.

Due to an increasing amount of children with allergies, I ask you please do not bring food and snacks to the studio.

And that’s it, please ask if you have any questions.

Thank you

Anja
