Newborn sessions take place at Anja's studio in Ocean Reef and it is best to book while you are still pregnant. Anja will aim to photograph your baby between 6-14 days after birth. This is when babies are most sleepy and still wanting to 'curl up'. Your session includes everything we need to create beautiful portraits of your baby - props, fabrics, wraps and dresses for mum is available for you and family and sibling photos are also included. Prior to your session you will have a chat about styling and Anja will also send you an information package via email. Newborn sessions are held Monday - Friday and start at 9.30am.
Maternity sessions take place either in the studio in the morning or at an outdoor location at sunset. Anja recommends booking in for around 32+ weeks. You need to have a sizeable bump, but you don’t want to leave it too close to your due date! Anja offers a great discounted session package for maternity and newborn photos as well. Prior to your session Anja will discuss styling with you and she provides a full range of maternity gowns and drapes for you to wear.
Family sessions are also either in the studio or at an outdoor location. Anja will help you choose a location that is suitable for your family and advise you on colour and clothing choice as well.
After your session, your photos will be edited individually and they will be presented to you in a private online gallery for you to choose your products. When purchasing a digital package you will receive your images in high resolution as well as web prepared files on a USB in custom packaging.
There is a non-refundable session fee retainer required at the time of booking to secure your date.
Prior to your newborn session you will be sent information detailing how to best prepare for your shoot.
Anja's style is very relaxed and even though she will make sure to give posing instruction she will also ensure that photos look natural and unforced.
For a family session she suggests you wear outfits that compliment each other. Bold colours or creamy tones are fantastic. Anja recommends not dressing everyone in the same colours but rather in a complimenting colour scheme. Bring accessories along too the shoot as well. If your child has a favourite teddy or something else that’s special to you and your family, please bring it along to your session.
Try to avoid clothes with printed brands or busy patterns, as these will take focus away from you and your family.
Anja will also discuss styling with you and help you decide on location.
