A photographer’s photo shoot
There’s a famous saying “Who cuts the barber’s hair?” but if we changed it to read “Who shoots the photographer?” then the answer would be me – Anja McDonald! The last two months I have photographed 4 photographers family shoots!
Liz Loh-Taylor is an humanitarian photographer from Melbourne who really knows her stuff so when she asked me to do her maternity shoot I was absolutely delighted. I was so excited that she would fly all the way over to Perth for ME! I scouted around and eventually decided upon a beautiful, moody avenue of pine trees that I knew would provide soft, romantic light as well as dovetail perfectly with Liz’s aesthetic.
I met up with Liz, her husband and her beautiful little girl in the mid afternoon, right when the light is starting to lose the harshness of midday. Later we went to the beach and, despite the drizzle, the sun came out right on cue and we ended up with some magical silhouetted sunset shots of Liz and her gorgeous family.
Liz said she was absolutely thrilled with the photos, which, coming from a photographer as talented as she is, really makes me smile.
